Abstract
Pile foundations are widely used to transfer structural loads to deeper, more competent soil layers. The behavior of pile foundations largely depends on the soil type, with sandy and clayey soils exhibiting significantly different characteristics. This study presents a comparative analysis of pile performance in sandy and clayey soils by evaluating load-carrying capacity, settlement, and lateral behavior. Using finite element modeling and numerical simulations, the study investigates pile-soil interaction under static and dynamic loading conditions. Statistical analysis of pile load tests and simulation results are presented to highlight differences in bearing capacity and settlement behavior. The research findings aim to assist geotechnical engineers in selecting appropriate pile designs tailored to soil conditions, ensuring safety and cost efficiency in foundation engineering.
