Abstract
This manuscript presents the design and implementation of a standalone embedded system for real‐time temperature monitoring, utilizing commonly available microcontrollers and analog temperature sensors as of 2014. The proposed system emphasizes low cost, low power consumption, and ease of deployment in industrial and environmental settings. The microcontroller interfaces with an LM35 analog temperature sensor, performing analog‐to‐digital conversion, data logging, and threshold‐based alert generation. Firmware is developed in C using a polling‐based architecture, and system performance is evaluated via a series of controlled experiments. Statistical analysis on repeated measurements demonstrates an average error below ±0.5 °C and a response time under 2 seconds. Research gaps are identified in long‐term stability, wireless data transmission, and multi‐sensor calibration. Conclusions underscore the viability of such embedded systems for temperature‐critical applications and suggest directions for future enhancements.
