Abstract
Legacy e-commerce platforms often underpin critical business operations yet struggle to meet modern demands for agility, scalability, and innovation. Integrating DevOps strategies offers a transformative approach that modernizes these systems while preserving their core functionality. This paper explores the integration of DevOps methodologies into legacy e-commerce environments to facilitate continuous deployment, efficient maintenance, and systematic upgrades. By leveraging automation tools, continuous integration, and containerization, organizations can streamline operations, reduce downtime, and improve customer experiences. The strategic application of DevOps enables seamless collaboration among development, operations, and quality assurance teams, fostering an agile environment that supports rapid response to market changes. Furthermore, the use of robust monitoring and feedback systems provides actionable insights into system performance and security vulnerabilities, ensuring that legacy platforms remain resilient and competitive. This approach also minimizes risks associated with disruptive system overhauls by allowing incremental improvements and comprehensive testing. The paper examines case studies that highlight successful transformations and identifies best practices, including stakeholder engagement, careful planning, and the adoption of scalable technologies. It further discusses challenges such as cultural resistance and technical debt management. Overall, the research underscores that DevOps is not merely a technical upgrade but a fundamental shift in organizational culture that drives innovation and sustainable growth. By embracing DevOps strategies, enterprises can unlock hidden potential within legacy e-commerce systems, transforming them into dynamic platforms capable of supporting future business needs and technological advancements. This comprehensive analysis contributes valuable insights for decision-makers seeking effective modernization and continuous improvement in legacy systems globally recognized.
