Abstract

Cloud-based audience management solutions have gained significant traction in recent years as organizations increasingly migrate to cloud platforms to manage their audiences effectively. These solutions, which involve the collection, storage, and analysis of vast amounts of personal data, raise critical concerns regarding data privacy. This paper evaluates the data privacy measures implemented in such cloud-based systems, assessing their ability to protect sensitive user information from unauthorized access and breaches. The research aims to identify the effectiveness of current data protection mechanisms, the impact of privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA, and the security challenges posed by cloud environments. It delves into the implementation of encryption techniques, access control models, and anonymization practices, examining their strengths and weaknesses in mitigating data privacy risks. Moreover, this paper explores the role of cloud service providers in ensuring data privacy compliance and investigates the responsibilities of both the service provider and the end-user in securing data. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with cloud security experts and quantitative analysis of real-world case studies of data breaches within cloud-based audience management platforms. The findings highlight the need for improved data governance frameworks, proactive monitoring, and increased user awareness to effectively safeguard privacy in the cloud. The paper concludes with recommendations for enhancing data privacy measures and outlines areas for further research, including the potential role of emerging technologies like blockchain and AI in strengthening data protection.
