Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have emerged as a pivotal technology in enabling smart home automation by providing flexible, low-cost, and energy-efficient communication among devices. ZigBee, a low-power wireless communication protocol, has been widely adopted in WSNs due to its robustness, low data rate, and mesh networking capabilities, making it suitable for home automation applications. This manuscript explores the integration of ZigBee protocol within WSNs specifically tailored for home automation. It delves into the fundamental characteristics of ZigBee, the architecture of WSNs, and the challenges addressed by this integration. Methodologies including network design, node deployment, and performance evaluation are elaborated, followed by an analysis of system results highlighting network reliability, latency, and power consumption. The study concludes with insights into ZigBee’s effectiveness in home automation and suggestions for future improvements within the 2020 technological context.
