Abstract
This manuscript investigates the integration of mechatronics subsystems in automated assembly lines as of 2015. Emphasis is placed on the synergetic design of mechanical, electrical, and control components to enhance throughput, precision, and adaptability. A comprehensive literature review highlights state-of-the-art approaches up to 2015, followed by a methodology combining modular hardware design with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) interfaces. Five research objectives guide the work, which includes statistical analysis of key performance indicators, simulation in MATLAB®/Simulink, and experimental validation of a pilot assembly cell. Results demonstrate throughput improvements of 18 % and defect reductions of 12 %, confirming the efficacy of integrated mechatronic solutions. Conclusions address scalability and future research directions. Ten references from journals and conference proceedings up to 2015 are provided.
