Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive performance comparison of various Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques used in three-phase inverters. The study focuses on commonly applied PWM methods including Sinusoidal PWM (SPWM), Space Vector PWM (SVPWM), and Third Harmonic Injection PWM (THIPWM). The analysis is performed through simulation and experimental validation considering key performance metrics such as total harmonic distortion (THD), switching losses, and output voltage quality. Statistical analysis provides insights into the effectiveness and efficiency of each PWM technique under different operating conditions. The results highlight that SVPWM offers superior harmonic performance and better DC bus utilization compared to SPWM and THIPWM. The findings of this study assist in selecting appropriate PWM methods for industrial applications requiring efficient power conversion.
