Role of AI in Cloud Resource Optimization and Cost Management

Abstract

The rapid adoption of cloud computing has made resource management a critical concern for organizations aiming to optimize costs while maintaining performance. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a key enabler, offering intelligent solutions for workload management, dynamic resource allocation, and predictive analytics to prevent resource wastage. This paper explores the role of AI in optimizing cloud resources and managing costs effectively, focusing on models and techniques such as predictive analytics, reinforcement learning, and workload automation. The study offers a comprehensive literature review of recent research trends, presents a framework for AI-based resource management, and discusses its impact on cost-efficiency and operational sustainability. Results indicate that AI-driven strategies can lead to cost savings up to 30-40% with improved performance. This research provides practical insights for organizations seeking to adopt AI-powered solutions for cloud optimization.
