Abstract
Soil compaction is a fundamental process in geotechnical engineering that improves soil properties and enhances its load-bearing capacity. This paper investigates the influence of various compaction techniques on soil bearing capacity, highlighting the significance of compaction in foundation design and construction. Laboratory and field compaction methods, including static, dynamic, and vibratory techniques, are analyzed for their impact on soil density, moisture content, and bearing capacity. Experimental studies demonstrate that appropriate compaction increases soil strength and stiffness, reducing settlement and improving stability. The findings reinforce the importance of selecting suitable compaction methods to optimize soil performance, thereby ensuring safe and cost-effective structural foundations.
