Criteria and Conditions for Selection of International Editor (Board Member)
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualifications
- Must hold a Graduation Degree/PG degree/Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field or have equivalent scholarly achievements.
- Must have a strong academic and research background demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals.
- Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of active research and/or editorial experience in the relevant academic domain.
- Prior experience as a reviewer, associate editor, or editorial board member for reputable journals is highly desirable.
- Research Recognition
- Must have a proven record of citations, impactful publications, or recognized research grants.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one specialized area relevant to the journal’s scope.
- Global Representation
- Must be affiliated with a recognized academic or research institution or organization outside the journal’s host country to ensure international representation.
- Ethical Standards
- Must have no record of plagiarism, research misconduct, or unethical editorial practices.
- Must adhere to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Conditions of Appointment
- Term of Service
- Appointment will be for a fixed term (e.g., 3 years) with the possibility of renewal based on performance and contribution.
- Selection Process
- Selection may be through nomination by existing board members or open application followed by evaluation.
- Final selection is subject to approval by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.
- Performance Review
- Annual performance evaluation will be conducted based on review quality, timeliness, and contribution to the journal’s growth.
Editorial Responsibilities of International Editors
- Manuscript Evaluation & Decision-Making
- Have complete responsibility and authority to accept or reject manuscripts within their assigned domain.
- Based all decisions on the manuscript’s importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Only accept manuscripts when reasonably certain of their scholarly value.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure the academic integrity and quality of all published papers.
- Recommend corrections, errata, or retractions where necessary.
- Ethics & Misconduct Handling
- Act promptly in cases of suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research, ensuring due process.
- Do not reject based solely on suspicion—must have evidence of misconduct.
- Transparency & Fairness
- Avoid overturning prior editorial decisions without a valid and documented reason.
- Avoid conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and editorial staff.
- Publication Improvement
- Strive to improve the journal considering both author and reader needs.
- Maintain awareness of funding sources that could influence research integrity.
- Finality & Consistency in Decisions
- Avoid altering a final decision (accept/reject) unless new, substantial evidence emerges.
