Abstract
Fatigue behavior of aluminum alloys plays a crucial role in aerospace applications due to the cyclic loading and high-performance requirements. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the fatigue characteristics of commonly used aluminum alloys in the aerospace industry, including 2024, 6061, and 7075 series. The study reviews their microstructural features, mechanical properties, and the influence of environmental factors on fatigue life. Experimental investigations involving fatigue testing under various loading conditions were conducted. Statistical analysis highlights the performance variations between alloys, and methodology describes testing and evaluation techniques used. Results demonstrate the superior fatigue resistance of 7075 alloy under certain stress regimes, whereas 6061 shows better corrosion fatigue resistance. The conclusion summarizes findings and emphasizes alloy selection criteria. Future scope discusses the integration of advanced modeling and surface treatment technologies to further improve fatigue life.
